Madrí Excepcional, the Mediterranean style lager, is bringing ‘El Alma de Madrid’ or the soul of Madrid to Manchester’s The Oast House on Sunday 30th April with an all-day celebration of Spanish and British culture. Fusing the cultural energies of Madrid and Manchester via food, art and music, Madrí Excepcional will curate a free and exciting event for Mancunians this Bank Holiday weekend.

From the delicious food and drink to the electrifying music to the vibrant street art, the one-off event aims to bring the culture of Madrid, to the heart of Manchester. Entry to the event is free, and all visitors need to do is turn up.

Delicious dishes on offer will incorporate classic Madrid ingredients

With the best of the UK meeting with top Spanish talent, chart-topping British rapper, Ramz, will headline the event and perform a live set alongside Spanish singer, Fusa Nocta from 5.00 pm. The X-factor alumni will make her Manchester debut with a dynamic set blending their two distinct styles to create the perfect soundtrack for the bank holiday weekend. Visitors will be treated to a host of performances from 1 pm in the afternoon, including local artists, compered by local personality Kya Buller.

Mancunians will also be able to taste the unique cultural combination of Madrid and Manchester, with a range of Madrí Excepcional-inspired dishes available at The Oast House. From the mouth-watering Chorizo Pork Burger to the Bravas Fries and Caramel Churros, the delicious dishes on offer will incorporate some of Madrid’s most iconic ingredients. The exclusive menu will be available the following week, until stocks last, so even those who can’t make the event can enjoy a taste of Spain when they visit The Oast House.

‘El Alma de Madrid’ or the soul of Madrid, at Manchester’s The Oast House

An integral piece of both Madrid and Manchester’s identity is street art. As part of Madrí Excepcional’s wider Manchester city takeover, in the lead-up to the event stunning murals will be unveiled from one of Madrid’s best street artists, Sokram, and leading Mancunian artist, Qubek. Each artist will bring to life the soul of their city, depicting the art, food and sounds found on the streets of their respective hometowns. The public can see the murals from 27 April on Thomas Street in the Northern Quarter. As the sun goes down, event-goers will be treated to an innovative and captivating projection mapping display, featuring both the murals, which will bring to life stories behind the artworks.

The striking new murals and Madrí Excepcional x The Oast House form part of the beer brand’s wider takeover of Manchester, which also includes a ‘Door Roja’ (red door) which will be popping up in Exchange Square, alongside Madrí Excepcional branding appearing on the streets in the weeks leading up to the May Bank Holiday weekend. To learn more, people can find one of the Madrí Excepcional QR codes scattered across the city and scan it to experience ‘El Alma de Madrid’.
