Theatre Royal Wakefield will host Will Pound, an acclaimed harmonica and melodeon player, joined by Polish poet Bohdan Piasecki and an ensemble of four musicians performing A Day Will Come.

A Day Will Come is Piasecki’s project that pays homage to the folk music of all 27 EU countries. It showcases how diverse the traditional tunes of each country are, but it also explores similarities and common grounds.

From the lively Swedish polska to the upbeat Italian tarantella, the lilt of the Irish jig, to buoyant French bourées, relentless rachenistas from Bulgaria and the rip-roaring Spanish jota. These tunes have traveled, evolved and merged as Europeans have enjoyed freedom of movement and expression, a shining example of the strength and joy in unity.

A Day Will Come is an uplifting spectacle, full of joyous sounds of a continent complemented by the stories and hopes of those affected by the politics of division.
