Paradise Skate World

Paradise skate world

The roller skating renaissance is well underway. And although some aspects of the ’80s are better left in the past, it’s a joy to watch people getting into the fast-paced fun of roller rinks once more. Paradise Skate World in Great Northern Warehouse is taking an intergalactic slant on your typical roller rink. Their wood-sprung cosmic cruiseway is adorned with space-themed decor and filled with a constant soundtrack of well-curated music.

In the middle of the rink, you’ll find the bar and lounge area. So whether you’re hungry for a post-skate pizza, see yourself as more of a cocktail-sipping observer rather than a skater, or want to pull in for a mid-skate refreshment, there’s enough variety on the menu to meet everyone’s needs. We were most struck by the intriguing array of cocktails, which, despite looking like something not of this world, don’t fall into the trap of being all style and no substance. If you’re peckish, there’s also a selection of snacks – including pizza and nachos – with the added option of making things vegan.

While you glide through the tunnels of tubes, lights, mirrors and murals you’ll be accompanied by a soundtrack of pure bangers. There is no better feeling than letting the wind flow through your hair while you indulge in the guilty pleasure of listening to Sean Paul (come on, ‘Temperature’ still slaps, even after all these years).

For those who are feeling the cost of living squeeze, but don’t want it to stop you from having fun, Paradise Skate World offers skate sessions for just £8. These sessions are an hour long and can be booked in advance, giving you the chance to enjoy the rink for less than half the price of a peak-time skate.

Check out the website for drink and skate deals, as well as more information about how individual sessions are priced.
