Packed with adventure and mischief, the smash-hit live production of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt wades into The Lowry this December. The hugely successful children’s show will celebrate its 15th anniversary with a four-week run in Salford, ahead of a UK and international tour.

Pitched perfectly for pre-schoolers…you couldn’t wish for a sweeter introduction to theatre.

Adapted from Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury’s much-loved rhythmic tale, we think this is the perfect show for giddy kippers aged 3+ (and their grown-ups) this Christmas. Pitched perfectly for pre-schoolers, the familiar and addictively popular picture book has been adapted beautifully for stage, and you couldn’t wish for a sweeter introduction to theatre.

We’re going on a bear hunt, we’re going to catch a big one, what a beautiful day, we’re not scared.

Round up the family as you watch the intrepid, charming family of adventurers (and their musical pup) on a mission to find a bear. Charmingly peeled from page to stage, all of your favourite lines from the classic picture book are in there. Join the adventure and chant along together as the family makes their way through the long swishy swashy grass, the splishy splashy river and the thick, squelchy mud.

Directed by Sally Cookson, fun and entertainment are at the heart of this super production. With a running time of 55 minutes, the picture book has been perfectly adapted for busy bodies with big imaginations. Expect brilliant puppetry, catchy songs and Benji Bower’s lively musical score alongside a few surprises and plenty of interaction. We’re Going on a Bear Hunt ticks all the boxes for a family-friendly afternoon of vivid storytelling and performance.
