The BBC Philharmonic’s annual family concert will be hosted this year by no less than CBBC’s Lauren Layfield and Hacker T. Dog. Expect a humorous and extremely accessible introduction to an hour of thrilling live classical music from one of the UK’s finest orchestras.

Little people are definitely not expected to sit still as they witness “the full force of brass, delicate swathes of strings and the windiest of woodwinds!”

Aimed at age six and above (but with all ages extremely welcome), it’s the perfect first introduction for the smallest of concertgoers. Expect to experience toetapping and beautiful sounds from Mendelssohn (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Holst (Jupiter from The Planets) and Tschaikovsky (The Nutcracker), conducted by Michael Seal of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

Arrive from 2 for lively, free musical and showbiz activities in the foyer.
