Looking for a fun, creative day out with the kids this Easter break? Head to mini books, big stories at the People’s History Museum and create your own mini book, inspired by the life of one of the museum’s fascinating heroes. You can also design your own book cover.

Taking place in the Playful Protest Space, this activity celebrates 90 years of Penguin Books. It’s a chance to get creative and have fun, while also finding out all about how this renowned publisher became what it is today, and made books affordable for everyone.

While you’re there, don’t forget to pick up your 2025 Banner Bingo sheet from the welcome desk and explore the fascinating Banner Exhibition. You can also do the family friendly Suffragette’s Trail, where you can discover how women have campaigned for equality and make a badge to take home.

And if you’re hungry, head over to the Open Kitchen Cafe & Bar for light lunch options, tasty drinks and snacks.

Mini books, big stories at the People’s History Museum is a drop-in activity that’s perfect for children aged 5 to 12, with all materials provided – so all you need to bring is yourself and your amazing brain. The museum is packed with interactive exhibits and hands-on experiences in every gallery, making it a great place to go for people of all ages. So come and create stories, learn about history and make memories together this Easter.
