The Monro

Susie Stubbs

The Monro’s strapline is “for the love of food” and this Duke Street establishment is one of Liverpool’s top gastropubs. The place is named after the first passenger ship to run from Liverpool to New York; the pub has a fitting maritime theme (including the kids’ menu, where Captain’s homemade chicken goujons come with “gangplank” chips). The menu here is English, the restaurant open for lunch and dinner, and it’s a place we’d recommend for good food that leans towards fine dining.
