Kazimier Stockroom

Johnny James, Managing Editor

Run by the heads behind The Invisible Wind Factory, Kazimier Stockroom is in some ways the opposite of its big (very big) sister venue. You can pack 1500 into IWF but this place fits a mere 100, meaning you’ll always be able to get nice and close to the action. And there’s a lot of action; this is a micro venue with maximalist ambitions, with everything from gigs to screenings to theatre shows taking place within its wall on any given day.

Kazimier Stockroom is where you’ll often find emerging talent on tour as well as local musicians. An intimate venue often makes for a more personal experience of the performance so pop in and sample the atmosphere yourself.

Located right next to, and with access through the Kazimier Garden on Seel Street away from the weekend buzz of Concert Square, you can grab a drink and enjoy it outside in glorious sunshine or under a glowing red heater in the colder months. A good atmosphere is guaranteed, with the venue attracting regulars, students and curious passers by.

The Stockroom’s programme is busy with events all year round – you’ll usually find gigs and small scale festivals with a broad range of sounds, so there’s something for everyone.

Clockworks is a great spot off the beaten track to grab a cosy pint or cocktail, and you’ll often find live music happening outside the front in Wolstenholme Square. It’s worth dropping by just to see Cuban sculptor Jorge Pardo’s Penelope, one of the largest sculptures in the city.
