Dig out your favourite Christmas jumper and get ready for the RNCM’s much-loved Christmas Family Day, which sees the renowned WFEL Fairey Band provide live brass band accompaniment to a screening of Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas, preceded by a host of fun-loving workshops and activities.

It’s Christmas Eve at Mossy Bottom Farm where Shaun’s seasonal excitement turns to dismay as his hunt for a bigger stocking hits a snag, his woolly companion Timmy going missing just before Christmas. Can Shaun save the day and get Timmy home in time for the big day, and might, just might the resolution involve a flock of sheep in a flying sleigh?

Soundtracking this hi-wire adventure, Stockport’s WFEL Fairey Band are renowned for their high level of musicality and expertise, and have won every elite band event in the contest calendar. Working closely with both the RNCM and Aardman Animations, they’ve taken on the massive challenge of transcribing Tom Howe’s engrossing score for brass band, and its first performance will be at this very event.

There will be two screenings of the film, both of which will be preceded by workshops and activities that encourage kids to get creative while revelling in all the seasonal excitement. You can book tickets to either the morning session (10am – 1pm) or the afternoon session (2.15pm – 5.15pm), with £13 tickets granting you entry to both the screening and the festive frolics.
