Play for Today/Leeds – United! Introduction at HOME Manchester, Manchester, 5 May 2019, from £5.50 - Book now

Based on real events that took place in 1970 and originally broadcast in 1974, this expansive BBC television drama focuses on the collective action of female workers in the textile trade in Leeds as they campaign for equal pay. Writer Colin Welland and Director Roy Battersby utilised an ensemble cast of actors, including Lynne Perrie and Elizabeth Spriggs, to show the complexity of the dispute and the various institutions that were involved.

This screening of Play for Today/Leeds – United! will be introduced by the Women, Organise! season curator Andy Willis.
