Opera North return to Lowry this November with a brand-new adventure for families. The Big Opera Mystery invites children aged 5-12 to don their detective hats and help catch an expert thief who’s on the loose. The suspects are some of the greatest opera characters of all time. The detective is you.

With a running time of just 50 minutes, this fast-paced, interactive caper makes the perfect introduction to opera for budding musicians and younger theatre-goers. Following the success of 2024’s The Big Opera Adventure, the show features live music from the Orchestra of Opera North – expect mystery, mischief and plenty of fun.

The Big Opera Mystery is one of three Opera North productions heading to Salford this November, alongside La bohème and Susanna.
