Joyous, uplifting and fabulous, this phenomenal new musical is running at The Lowry all through the festive period. Created by the producers of the international hit musical SIX, Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World is a stage musical adaptation of suffragette descendent Kate Pankhurst’s award-winning picture book. Described as a ‘kickass-pirational pop musical’, we’re thrilled that the show is back in Salford.

The show has been created by a brilliant team of fantastically great women too.

With an all-female creative team, the musical has been written by celebrated dramatist Chris Bush and songwriter Miranda Cooper, who has penned hits for pop superstars Kylie Minogue and Girls Aloud. With music by Miranda Cooper and Jennifer Decilveo and direction by Amy Hodge – it looks as though the show has been created by a brilliant team of fantastically great women too.

The story follows inquisitive heroine Jade and her visit to a local museum on a school trip. When Jade sneaks away from the rest of her class to take a look at a new exhibition, ‘Gallery of Greatness’ – which is not open to the public yet, she is surprised to bump into some of the most influential women ever to have lived. Featuring the original and most incredible wonder women: Frida Kahlo, Rosa Parks, Amelia Earhart, Marie Curie, Emmeline Pankhurst and Mary Seacole, Jade runs into the women who shook the world.

The perfect way for all ages to celebrate some of the female icons who changed the world.

Packed full of celebrated – though often forgotten – characters, inspirational moments and an electric soundtrack, Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World introduces audiences to some of history’s strongest mothers, daughters and sisters. With a running time of 80 minutes and recommended for ages 7+, we think this show is the perfect way for all ages to celebrate some of the female icons who changed the world.
