Moss Studio Store
Book now

Visit the most recently established pottery studio in Altrincham to learn, develop or perfect your ceramic skills. Moss Studio-Store’s ceramic workshops are open to everyone regardless of age ability or former experience. All you need to take part is an ambition to learn and a willingness to devote some time and care to your project.

make a quirky and unique item

This cosy and friendly studio offers a 3 consecutive week hand building course, during which you’ll build up a tool kit of building techniques and surface decorations, with which you’ll create your final piece. You’ll then learn about the process of firing and glazing the pots and end up with your finished piece to take home.

The one-off hand building classes are a condensed version of the 3 week course allowing you to get a bit more creative and hands on with the clay. You’ll apply learned techniques to make a quirky and unique item. The teacher will always be on hand to guide you through in a step by step process and make sure the studio is a safe and fun environment.

On weekends, the studio hosts family workshops. These one off classes allow you to have fun and experience hand building with the whole family. It’s a great way to build a child’s confidence or allow yourself the opportunity to relax and unwind with your children.

participants may end up learning from and being inspired by each other as much as the teacher

For a more exclusive experience you can book private lessons for up to two people. These will be focused around the pottery wheel, where you’ll learn to throw pots rather than hand build.

No matter what ceramic workshops you choose there will always be a friendly teacher onhand to encourage, advise and share their passion for pottery with the class. More advanced participants will be allowed to be able to be more self-directed in the sessions and participants may end up learning from and being inspired by each other as much as the teacher.

Take up a new hobby in ceramics or give yourself the opportunity to relax with a pottery project and find which Moss Studios class is right for you.
