Site Gallery welcomes the work of Freya Dooley in the new solo show False Note. The exhibition is a collection of interconnected artworks, focused broadly around the themes of connection, communication and replacement. The artist’s oeuvre is multidisciplinary, ranging from sound and video to performance and writing. Her interests are also broad, from intimate connections between disparate subjects to the structures of work and domesticity.

Dooley spent time in Rome researching post-synchronised sound and sonic artifice in Italian cinema and viewers will be able to see the results of this research as part of False Note. The pieces examine the musical and idiomatic meanings of the term ‘false note’, as one revealing untruths and insincerity.

The exhibition is accompanied by an exciting programme of events, including live performances and family-friendly workshops so take a look at the website to learn more.
