Intimate and magical, Brave Space is a unique circus show that invites the audience to assist and engage directly with the performance.

In this ephemeral and innovative show, the company welcome the audience into their private performance space.

Recommended for ages 4+, the whole performance takes place under a mini tent of white sheets. Prepare to stand nose to nose with an all-female cast of six acrobats as they engage you throughout. Empowering and charged with meaning, expect to see a range of circus acts – from juggling and the Cyr wheel to trapeze, balancing and the hula hoop – all executed with elegance and precision.

Brave Space has been created by the US-based company, Aloft, who hail from the circus school in Chicago. In this ephemeral and innovative show, the company welcome the audience into their private performance space. Heading behind The Lowry‘s Lyric Stage – to a place rarely seen by theatre-goers – audiences will experience a breathtaking, up-close moment of circus magic.

Playful and beautiful, Brave Space creates a sense of solidarity and requires 100% trust between the artists and the audience. Because only together you can build the show and keep the artists in the air.

‘Immersive’ is a word that is often used too readily to describe theatre – however, this breathtaking show embodies the word perfectly.

‘Immersive’ is a word that is often used too readily to describe theatre – however, this breathtaking show embodies the word perfectly. Nurturing community and connection between audience and performer, Brave Space is a truly astonishing and rewarding show.

Described as “wondrous up-close circus” by The Guardian, the show received 5-star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2023. Thrillingly, it now tours Europe for the first time and, recommended for ages 4+, is a definite performance highlight for the whole family.
