Led by the charismatic and knowledgeable staff at the People’s History Museum, get to grips with large scale craftivism in this guided tour of the 2022 Banner Exhibition. They’ll be providing deeper context to these beautiful and power works of artistic protest. There will also be an expert from the museum’s conservation team on the tour, giving you an insight into the maintenance of these delicate and well aged banners.

The 2022 Banner Exhibition reinvents and takes over a quarter of their main galleries. The 2022 exhibitions includes banners used as part of the LGBT+ solidarity with the miner’s strike as well as artists campaigning for women’s rights in the early 20th Century. There are also banners from disabled people’s activism and campaigns against unfair treatments.
