Threshold is not your usual gallery space. It’s an open air area that teeters between being a gallery and a tiny, public sculpture park, to be encountered by anybody walking past, on purpose or by chance.

Located in the front garden of a traditional terraced house in Burnley, Leeds, Threshold is an artist-run project space for sculpture with a regular programme of exhibitions. It’s one of the most interesting art display formats in the North in recent years: by showcasing sculpture outdoors in the most seemingly ordinary, and therefore unexpected location, the space welcomes anyone who walks past and facies taking a look.

Threshold first opened in 2021 with a busy schedule of events. Now, after a three year break, they’re back with an exciting programme of projects exploring the multifaceted nature of sculpture.

Check out Exhibitions Guide and the Threshold website for news about current and upcoming shows.
