Housed in a historic, dramatic converted Victorian commercial building close to the riverside, this chic boutique hotel in Leeds offers its visitors a stylish stay. Boasting its own sultry French brasserie and cocktail bar, plus close proximity to some of the best shopping, bars, and restaurants in Leeds, Malmaison is the perfect home from home for those looking for a little luxury at the end of the day.

Home to a total of 100 rooms and suites, all meticulously designed in Malmaison’s customary style – think sober greys, chocolates, deep reds, and luxurious textures in abundance – guests can opt for a range of rooms including cosy, standard, and deluxe doubles, or different twin options. If you fancy going all out, there’s also the house’s signature surrealist suite: a loud and quirky art deco room, with fun features including its very own bright yellow hippo called George to ensure you don’t get bored.

Spread across four floors, all rooms boast great beds and ensuites with relaxing baths and Mal’s signature power showers, plus other little luxuries like same-day laundry service, seriously good wines and nibbles, digital TV, blackout curtains, free Wi-Fi, hairdryers, ironing board and iron, and a complimentary tea and coffee making station. For families staying in Malmaison Leeds’ superior rooms, children’s beds and cots can be added on request for a small additional fee.

Brasserie
Malmaison

The hotel is also home to a super stylish Chez Mal Brasserie & Grill, a seductively lit space serving good cocktails and traditional French cuisine, just as you’d expect. Dishes are well-priced, spanning punchy nibbles, burgers, salads, pasta, and a hearty grill section featuring everything from hand cut prime aged beef to free-range pork chop, salmon, and cauliflower. As for drinks, it’s certainly worth leaving some time before dinner for cocktails if you can – the list is rather splendid.

The brasserie is open morning until night, serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner throughout the day. It also offers a three course express menu for under £20 on weekdays with a glass of wine, pint of lager or soft drink included. Dishes are served within thirty minutes, making it perfect for a working lunch or pre-theatre treat, with the menu available at both lunch and early evening between 5-7pm. Malmaison is also home to a number of private dining rooms, available for special occasions big and small.

For those looking for a stylish and comfortable stay in the heart of Leeds, with its affordable prices and luxury amenities, Malmaison is always a good choice.
