UrbanArtistry is a new independent movie night dedicated to exploring the craft and culture of street art and graffiti from around the world. For their second screening, audiences can dive into the world of Nychos, an illustrator and graffiti artist behind Rabbit Eye Movement.

Directed by documentarian Christian Fisher, 2015’s The Deepest Depths of the Burrow sees Nychos expand his influence from the Austrian scene, flying to Berlin to San Francisco to Copenhagen to Hawaii and beyond as he links up with other artists and spreads his iconic white rabbit across the world. The film offers a glimpse into a subculture that is both hyper-local and globally connected, following Nychos as he traverses continents, with the motto: “Travel to paint, paint to travel.”

UrbanArtistry have found a perfect partner in CULTPLEX, the small indie cinema hosted within street food venue GRUB on the edge of Manchester city centre. The organisations share a DIY ethos, and rough-around-the-edges charm that makes them the perfect location to celebrate urban culture — plus there’s always local craft beer on tap and a rotating selection of street food vendors to enjoy.
