UrbanArtistry are back with one of their most exciting events yet as the street art documentary specialists present a one off screening of My Dog Sighs: We Shelter Here Sometimes at Cultplex this March. The intimate documentary follows an internationally acclaimed British street artist known by the moniker My Dog Sighs, as he embarks on his most ambitious project to date, working with a tiny budget to transform a treacherous derelict building.

The artist will be in Manchester alongside director Paul Gonella to answer your questions about the making of the film, and the creation of the vast immersive installation that it documents.  Titled ‘Inside’, the project within the film marked MDS’s first foray into the world of sculpture, as the artist worked with a tiny budget to transform a vast and decaying abandoned ballroom into a career-defining work of art.

The documentary follows the ups and downs of the project, including the hurdles put up by COVID lockdowns, break-ins, a cash crisis, and even a fire, getting close to MDS while asks himself whether he’ll even be able to open the doors to the public.

In addition to the film screening on Thursday 20 March, MDS is also scheduled to paint a mural in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter for the first time on Wednesday 19 March as part of a project facilitated by Spraydays Official.

We’re also told that there will be a merch stand at the Cultplex event in an UrbanArtistry first. So street art fans who’d like to take a piece of the action home should be sure to arrive early.
