The Chosen Haram at Waterside, Manchester 17 May 2023 Tickets from £13.00 — Book now

Expect a heady mix of love, drugs and Islam when the The Chosen Haram plays at Waterside as part of Pride in Trafford 2023.

Dealing with themes of sexuality, faith, addiction and connection, The Chosen Haram tells the story of two queer men and their chance meeting through a dating app. What makes this ‘boy-meets-boy’ narrative so ethereal is the fact that the story is told through a combination of extraordinary physical theatre and gravity-defying circus.

Based on a combination of lead artist Sadiq Ali’s personal experience, as well as interviews with members of the LGBTQ+ community who identify as (ex) Muslim, the show is an exploration into the personal struggles faced by many people whose upbringing contradicts their personal truths, and how this can lead to self-destructive behaviour.
