Iggety ziggety zaggety zoom… What’s that flying over Manchester…? Is it a broom? This festive season, families are invited to join Witch with her plait and her very tall hat, and who else, you guessed it – her purring cat! Enjoy Tall Stories’ magical, musical adaptation of the classic picture book Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, taking place at The Lowry until Sunday 8 January 2023.

Witch and her cat are having a regular night flying around on their broomstick being seriously scary, when the wind begins to pick up. Witch loses her hat and to get it back, they zoom down to the ground on the broomstick. On the ground, they meet a polite dog with a wagging tail and the witch’s hat in his paws. He’s desperate for a ride, he climbs aboard and becomes the first of many hitchhikers to ride along with Witch and her cat – they soon pick up a fluttering green bird and a dripping wet frog. But is there room on the broom? Will it hold under the weight of FIVE passengers?

CRACK.

Oh no – the broom has snapped, and at the same time, the hungry dragon has appeared. What’s next on this crazy journey that started off with only Witch and her cat? Is there room on the broom for everyone? Find out in this Olivier Award nominated spooktacular show for young people aged 3 and up and their families, with the themes of friendship, sharing and caring at its core.
