The Science and Industry Museum’s Operation Ouch! Brains, Bogies, and You exhibition is now open in Manchester, inviting visitors on a fun, hands-on journey into the wonders of the human body.

Embark on an exciting adventure packed with super-sized science and brilliant biology in this brand-new, multi-sensory experience.

It’s FULL of epic (and somewhat disgusting) treats, as you step inside a gooey waxy ear canal, make your way through sticky snot, poke around inside a giant eyeball and learn all about our awesome and interesting senses.

You’ll also get a chance to shrink down to a microscopic size and go on an extremely important medical mission inside Dr. Chris’s brain headquarters to find out all about the five core senses – touch, sight, hearing, smell, and taste. You’ll also learn about the lesser-known, fascinating and very important secret senses – for example, the ones that let you know when you need a wee and when it’s time to sleep.

Encounter all sorts of amazing illusions and find out about the varying sensory experiences humans have in this multi-sensory, fascinating adventure, prompted and guided with videos and illustrations of Operation Ouch! hosts Dr Chris, Dr Xand and and Dr Ronx. Throughout the exhibition, there’ll be a whole host of interactive games and challenges, fun facts and fascinating objects from the Science Museum Group’s collection.

There’s also a special events programme inside the exhibition, with regular Experitots sessions for younger visitors and sensory-friendly Relaxed Sessions. Find the full schedule on the museum website.

Operation Ouch! Brains, Bogies and You has been developed by the Science and Industry Museum, produced in collaboration with BBC Children’s and Education and Objective Media Group.

We love that there’s always something new to discover and explore at the Science and Industry Museum. Book your visit today.
