Blending storytelling, dynamic choreography and cutting-edge technology, Homecoming traces one woman’s journey to reconnect with her lost sense of self. What sets this performance apart, is that there are two ways to experience it – you can immerse yourself in a live theatre show (60 minutes long) or engage with it as a virtual reality experience in Lowry‘s foyer (25 minutes long).

Whichever version you choose, expect a unique experience interwoven with holographic projections as you follow the journey of her ghost, suspended in limbo between two worlds, where reality bends and breaks.

Told from the ghost’s perspective, this emotionally charged performance explores themes of disconnection, forgotten identity, and rediscovery. Guided by The Watcher, a mysterious figure who aids those lost between worlds, she retraces the memories that brought her here. Through a breathtaking live performance infused with interactive projections, the audience follows her across shifting realities, where the boundaries between past and present, self and shadow, begin to blur.

A story of survival and rebirth, Homecoming invites its audience to step into the ghost’s memories and unravel the mystery of her lost identity. This deeply moving narrative will resonate with anyone who has ever felt lost, disconnected, or in search of a deeper sense of self.

Blending mesmerising performance with interactive technology, Homecoming explores identity, belonging, and transformation. Whether you’re drawn to visually striking theatre, cutting-edge digital storytelling, or profoundly human stories of resilience, this innovative and emotionally raw production offers a powerful reflection on memory, loss, and the paths we take to rediscover who we are.

Accessibility is at the heart of this stunning work. Whether you experience the show in Lowry’s Quays Theatre or through VR in the foyer, you won’t just witness the story – you become part of it. Utterly absorbing.
