After a sold out start to this new event series, the green room continue their good work, bringing to unplugged, raw power of instrumental music to the intimate surrounds of the Carlton Club’s Green Room. In May, they are welcoming Zenaida.

This combination of excellent musicians with be playing music from their forthcoming EP Rococo Flourishes. This is how the group describes themselves…

“Zenaida began when Amy (guitar) met Pat (percussion) while playing in a Bateria or Brazilian Samba band, we took the effervescent energy of the street band and poured it into a duo. We have a shared love for music from all over Central and South America and also explore music from Cuba, Argentina, Venezuela, Uruguay, as well as our beloved Brazil.”

The duo became a trio when they were joined by bassist Andy Patterson. In this one off evening of unplugged high energy tunes they will be featuring Mandolin player Borna Kuća, who’ll join the group to play series of Brazilian choros from the 1800’s.

Expect to hear evocative harmonies and infectious rhythms that may carry your imagination, even for a short while, to warmer more exotic places.
