GASP! Horror Festival arrives in Manchester this June for an inaugural edition filled with werewolves and scream queens, killer clowns and queer classics, all dedicated to showcasing diversity in horror.

The line-up is dedicated exclusively to work by female filmmakers, international filmmakers, people with disabilities, people of colour and the LGBTQ+ community – making this a unique festival for the city. Held at GRUB’s Cultplex, the line-up promises six feature length films and two short film showcases spread across Saturday 17 & Sunday 18 June.

Highlights include the UK Premiere of Wolf Hollow, a gloriously gory horror comedy from director Mark Cantu featuring horror legends Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp) and Lynn Lowry (Shivers, The Crazies). We also like the sound of New Religion, a Japanese horror from director Keishi Kondo, that organisers are comparing to the work of David Lynch.

Alongside the new films, GASP! have also lined up a closing night, fifth anniversary, showing of Argentinian provocateur Gaspar Noé’s Climax, and an enticing, mystery queer horror classic screening on the Saturday night.
