BBC Philharmonic: From Leipzig to Finland at The Bridgewater Hall, City Centre, 19 February 2017, from £3.00 - Book now

‘Among the greatest achievements of Western European civilisation’ is how pianist Charles Rosen described Johann Sebastian Bach’s six-voice fugue from The Musical Offering. You can experience it first-hand here, with Webern’s arrangement of the piece conducted by John Storgårds.

Storgårds and the BBC Philharmonic will pair it with Sibelius’ Seventh Symphony, Danish composer Niels Gade’s First Symphony and Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto – the latter featuring rising star Alina Pogostkina.

Join the orchestra at 6.30pm for a free pre-concert talk
