It took a lot of work for the weekend as we know it to become embedded in society; workers in Greater Manchester fought hard for the right to establish two out of seven days in a week as time outside of work for family, rest and recuperation that we have all come to enjoy.
In its inaugural year, We Invented the Weekend Festival will cement its “raison d’etre” and celebrate free time, work-life balance and the opportunity to campaign for positive change.
Head to the MediaCity Weekend Stage to watch Salfodian artist, actor and director Rueben Johnson perform a powerful finale moment on the main stage. Inspired by themes of the festival and pledges and pleas from the Free Time Placard Workshop and Parade. What better way to end a jam-packed weekend of music, performance, activities, food and drink!
