Food in Exile: Iraqi cooking workshop with Carol Isaacs at Manchester Jewish Museum, Cheetham Hill 5 November 2021 Entrance is free — Visit now

Held in the Jewish Museum’s excellent learning kitchen, Food in Exile is a workshop lead by Carol Issacs, who will be sharing recipes inspired by her graphic novel ‘The Wolf of Baghdad’. In the session you’ll make a range of dishes mentioned in the novel including Cooked brown egg pittas and b’ ab’ e b’tamer (date cookies).

The workshop will be informal, chatty and a chance to meet new people as well as learn about Iraqi recipes and cooking traditions. The dishes will be accompanied by Iraqi-Jewish music and Carol will share images from her own work and discuss themes from her graphic novel and film with the group.

The workshop will finish with everybody sharing a pot of black tea and your baked goods!
