Highly visual, dramatic and awe-inspiring, world-renowned Flamenco masters, and life partners, Mercedes Ruiz and Santiago Lara, present one exceptional performance of their intimate Flamenco work, Dual, at The Lowry this October.

This rich and expressive work combines Mercedes Ruiz’ choreography and dance with Santiago Lara’s guitar and musical composition. Two brilliant artists – united in life and art – bring their talents together to create a special tandem performance.

Described as “a grand blaze of artistry” by the Financial Times, Mercedes Ruiz will set The Quays stage alight with her intricate footwork, striking movements and captivating presence. Accompanied by her husband, the multi-award winning Santiago Lara, audiences will be taken on a musical journey through the passionate and artistic world of Flamenco.

Mercedes Ruiz is considered one of the most esteemed dancers in Spain. Winner of countless prestigious Flamenco dance awards such as the Critics Award at the Jerez Festival and the Exhibition Award at the Seville Biennial, she is a masterful and elegant dancer who stands at the forefront of the evolution of traditional Flamenco.

Santiago Lara is a world-class guitarist, producer, composer and musical director and the recipient of some of the most prestigious awards in the industry. He has released five solo albums and has performed at festivals all over the world, from the Flamenco Festival in New York to the Seville Biennial in Spain.

Promising an unforgettable atmosphere, the show runs straight through at approximately 70 minutes. Don’t miss the opportunity to witness this unique and spellbinding performance, in which two shining stars of Flamenco express their unity and partnership in both life and art.
