If you know, you know. Don’t You Want Me? Podcast have lined up a Galentine’s Day screening of delightful anti-rom-com, Julia Roberts vehicle My Best Friend’s Wedding at Chapeltown Picture House.

P.J. Hogan’s ‘90s classic is built around a longstanding deal between ex-lovers which stipulates that they should marry each other if they are still single by – shock, horror! – age 28. Roberts stars a put together New York food critic who unravels when she realises that, days before her big birthday, her ex (Dermot Mulroney) has gotten himself engaged to a luminous 20-year-old, played by Cameron Diaz.

So, she does what she has to do: puts on a brave face, and vows to do whatever she can to break up the to-be-weds. While the premise might sound a little quaint to modern audiences, Hogan’s film crackles and fizzes along, powered by the wattage of Roberts’ smile, and Rupert Everett’s scene stealing role as her gay best friend undercover as the most charming boyfriend in the world.

Held at Chapeltown Picture House at GRUB, make sure you arrive early to the special Do you Want Me? screening for a glorious selection of street food, cocktails and locally sourced beers.
