As the lunar New Year approaches, join Floating Art for a lantern painting event which will have you entering the new year mindfully and creatively. Using Bamboo Brushes, mineral paint and Chinese Ink you’ll be guided through techniques and methods you can use to paint your own paper lantern.

The workshop will begin with the setting up of your paper lantern which will be glued together. You will then receive a demonstration from Ula, a highly experienced local artist with over 15 years of teaching experience, who will show you some Painting techniques to help you warm up by painting onto Rice Paper. You’ll then move onto your lantern, committing your own ideas to the paper. Although what you paint isn’t predetermined, there may be some offers of designs and styles that you can take inspiration from.

This workshop is for people aged 16+ and it suitable for people of all painting abilities, whether you’re a complete novice or a seasoned artist looking to try something new.
