Did you know that Blackpool Circus is the oldest permanent circus in the world? Yep, you heard right. Since setting up back in 1894, this hit show has continued to delight audiences of all ages, and has never missed a season despite two world wars and a global pandemic.

As this year’s action-packed calendar gets underway, Blackpool Tower Circus is gearing up up for some extra-special events, including the High Jinx Magic and Illusion Show. Created by award-winning illusionist and magician Michael Jordan, it’s a sensational 90-minute display of tricks, illusions, juggling, escapology and more.

Whatever time of year you choose you visit, you’re guaranteed plenty of laughter and entertainment. You’ll get to see some truly jaw-dropping stunts from contortionists, acrobats and trapeze acts, and there’s a fantastic big-wheel act that will keep you glued to your seat. The clowns will also be on hand with comedy capers and family fun.

The family currently behind the circus is the Endresz family, who come from an impressive line of circus performers. Laci Endresz Snr is a sixth-generation Circus family member who spent 25 years perfecting the flying trapeze, while wife Maureen is a member of the famous Roberts Brothers Circus family, specialising in foot juggling and balancing. Their children followed in their footsteps; son Laci Jnr has performed in Blackpool Circus as Mooky, while younger brother Bubu performs as a top entertainer.

With an uber-talented family at the helm, the circus brings together the traditional and the contemporary in seamless style. Each show promises tricks, laughs, and plenty of awe-inspiring productions.

It’s worth noting that seats for the circus and High Jinx show are on a first-come, first-served basis, so we’d recommend getting there on time to grab a suitable spot. Buggy parks are located on the ground floor.
