Sea Change Wine: Provence Rosé
Book now

Sold in several on-trade places in Manchester and the North, including The Botanist, you might have sampled Sea Change’s wines before. If you have, you’ll know they hit a little bit different – think big, fresh, memorable flavours, sourced from eco conscious vineyards in France and Italy. What’s more, for every bottle sold, the company donates to marine conservation charities. Enter Christmas, and the perfect gift for the eco-conscious wine lover in your life.

Nationwide wine brand Sea Change launched in 2018, and ever since has been supporting marine conservation and the fight against plastic pollution through its partnerships with charities such as Ocean Generation, Sea Changers and the Olive Ridley Project. The donations support many different types of projects: from driving environmental awareness with governments and industry to setting up sanctuaries and small local beach cleans.

This year, Sea Change have released a number of special Christmas wine packs, with something to suit most tastes. The Christmas Day pack, retailing at £35.47 features a Malbec, Prosecco and Sauvignon Blanc. The Simply Sea Change Pack (£73.44) features a Provence Rosé (more on that in a minute), Prosecco Rosé, Malbec, Pinot Grigio and Organic Bobal. And for that extra Christmas sparkle, it’s the Festive Fizz Pack (£33.97), which features Prosecco and Prosecco Rosé along with some booze-free fizz.

We tried the Provence Rosé, as it is stocked at the various Botanist venues in Manchester. We’ll be honest – Rosé isn’t our usual tipple, but it was delicious. All the tasting notes are there: a rounded peach flavour to start, then you get a tart, grapefruit hit, followed by sweet pineapple. We’ll be going back for more.

If you’re stuck for gift ideas then booze is always a great shout, but this feels more special than your standard fare, especially if you’re buying for someone who’s eco-conscious, and who would like the idea that their Christmas gift helped towards looking after the planet’s oceans.
