O2 Academy music venue in Liverpool.

Run by The Academy Music Group – who also own the smaller Arts Club live music venue in the Ropewalks – O2 Academy Liverpool (formerly the L2 and Carling Academy Liverpool) boasts two performance areas that host live music and clubnights.

The main building consists of performance areas. O2 Academy 1 can hold 1,200 (900 floor/300 balcony) people while O2 Academy 2 can hold 500. There are also 5 bars in the building which cater for the visitors who come to see shows (2 in O2 Academy 2 and 3 in O2 Academy 1).

The main room has seen the likes of Blondie, Arcade Fire, Primal Scream, The Killers, Biffy Clyro, Arctic Monkeys and the Wombats. O2 Academy Liverpool also has a long history of some of Liverpool’s best indie and rock club nights. A modern space with great sound and a proper sweaty dancefloor, just don’t lose your cloakroom ticket in the moshpit.
