Review by Tom Hallet & Antonio Tapusoa

Hidden down a cosy little back street in the heart of Manchester’s city centre, Crazy Pedro’s is a welcome retreat for those fortunate enough to be in the know.

You realise that you’re here for a good time, not a long time

As soon as you take your first steps down into the underground venue you’ll realise that you’re here for a good time, not a long time. The lights are low, but the place isn’t gloomy. The ceiling is plastered with past and present musicians, and the walls adorned with skateboards and various quirky ornaments. Peer over to the back-end of the bar and you’ll find pinball machines and, of course, a beer pong table (if you’re feeling brave, let me know).

Pedro’s is renowned for its extensive collection of Tequila, and arguably some of the best slices of pizza in town. During our short and sweet stay, I went for the classic Pepperoni, and my compadre, Antonio, got stuck into the KFC, a pizza inspired by Korean barbeque. The sriracha fried chicken and kimchi slaw were both dripping in flavour, while a mix of chillies and onions delivered a swift kick of heat. Both were a treat for the tastebuds, to say the least, leaving another ten pizzas on the menu left un-tasted – presumably all delicious.

The drinks menu at Pedro’s is just as fun. Stacked full of sweet and playful cocktails, more than enough of your favourite canned beers (Red Stripe, Pabst Blue Ribbon et al), and a handful of options on draught, there’s plenty to fuel your night. Pedro’s has plenty to offer: lots of choice, lots of flavour, and a truckload of good times.
