“Hey! You’re not Dickens!”
Rizzo the Rat, The Muppet Christmas Carol

Whether you’re revisiting for the thousandth time, or introducing the kids to Kermit and co., there are far worse ways to spend the week before Christmas than with Brian Henson’s The Muppet Christmas Carol. This tongue-in-cheek adaptation takes Charles Dickens’ (played here by Gonzo the Great) classic yuletide yarn and adds puppets, a rollicking soundtrack and more than a dash of slapstick. Despite these additions, critics have noted Henson’s surprising fidelity to the source text, and this tender version of Dickens’ dark tale of redemption has long become a Christmas family favourite.
