Making The Strange Familiar with Instigate Arts at Manchester Art Gallery, Chinatown 2 March 2017 Entrance is free

Launching the 2017 Wonder Women festival, Instigate Arts takes over Manchester Art Gallery for a special event inspired by the exhibition Strange and Familiar, a portrait of modern Britain as seen through the lens of international photographers and curated by the documentary photographer Martin Parr. This is a one-of-a-kind evening, dedicated to making the invisible visible. The gallery spaces will be handed over to experimental and unsung artists, musicians and performers who will create bold, live art events in response to the images in Strange and Familiar, and what they say about the social, cultural and political identity of women in 2017.

There will be a collection in aid of MASH, Manchester Action on Street Health on the evening.
