You’ve got no teeth. You’re underneath the roof that you carry around. You can write with your trail in the way of the snail in your delicate D.I.Y. home.

We can’t think of many better ways to while away an hour on a Sunday than spending it in the company of one of the greatest and most blinking hilarious wordsmiths on this planet.

This new show at Waterside sees Hegley take families on an amusing adventure through his catalogue of legendary poems, songs, stories and animal drawings.

Described by The Sunday Times as “scandalously talented”, this much-loved and famously bespectacled author and comic artist has written over 13 books. His illustrious catalogue includes I Am A Poetato, one of the best-titled books of all time in our opinion.

Expect a special guest musician and to sing along, shout out, giggle and wriggle with glee. Don’t miss the chance to meet the man himself and get a signed book after the show.

All Hail The Snail is produced by Half Moon Theatre and has been created to celebrate the 35th birthday of Apples and Snakes, England’s leading organisation for performance poetry and spoken word.
