GRUB are well known and loved for their excellent food (as the name would suggest) however their events are quickly becoming just as popular, whether it’s their football screenings, art classes or burlesque nights. As the festive season enters into full swing, they are hosting an indie arts market. The perfect place to pick up some bespoke prezzies whilst being a conscientious consumer.

With an emphasis on sustainability, you can expect to find stalls selling art, jewellery, homewares, skincare, food, vintage and more. Each seller is a local maker, curator or crafter with a passion for what they create or collect. Every item on the tables will have been put there with purpose and love, just waiting to find someone who will appreciate its beauty.

An afternoon of making, munching and merriment.

After a once round the stalls you can mull over your decisions with some delicious plant based eats from Jeyda’s Turkish Kitchen, Marley’s Pizza, Nina’s Taco Truck and Dohlightful. There will also be mulled wine and other boozy winter warmers to wash the good food down with.

During the afternoon you may wish to take a break from the Christmas preparations and unwind in a wreath making workshop with Blossom Flowers. These are taking place throughout the afternoon however, places on these workshops are limited so we advise you book in advance. All the materials – which have been sustainably sourced and are natural – are provided for you, meaning you can just turn up and get creative.

Discover the joy of sustainable shopping in this afternoon of making, munching and merriment at the GRUB Sustainable Indie Christmas Market.

Theatre across the North West splits between festive escape and sharp, urgent work exploring politics, power and resistance.

Exhibitions in the North

This season, exhibitions across the North West feel attuned to the world beneath the world – the forces and stories shaping how we see, feel and imagine.
