Dive into the incredible collection online to hear from scientific pioneers and discover the museum’s collection of 325,000 historic objects, photographs and archive materials. Many objects are available to view virtually as 3D models, and for those who are unsure where to start their search – the museum has even incorporated a nifty ‘random object generator’ digital tool too.

Head to the museum’s website and check out some of their online learning resources. Little ones will enjoy playing and exploring with online games, videos and apps. Learn the fundamentals of aerodynamics by making paper planes and discover the perfect way to make instant ice-cream.

Older children might enjoy hearing more about some of the greatest minds in science. Watch a lecture from Professor Stephen Hawking on physics and our universe and hear from Buzz Aldrin about walking on the moon.

The Museum of Science and Industry is renowned for offering in-person visitors a hands-on experience – we love that this ethos continues to thrive through their online programme. Always accessible and interactive, ‘Explore our Museums at Home’ is open for everyone online – be inspired, get creative and learn something new.
