English Touring Opera: Bach St John Passion at Storyhouse, Chester 9 April 2020 Tickets from £20.50 — Book now

Following their overwhelmingly successful performances of Bach’s great choral masterpieces, the English Touring Opera will present a semi-staged performance of St John Passion at Storyhouse this spring.

Described an ‘an immersive’ performance, the English Touring Opera have commissioned new translations of the Chorales from literary and theological commentators including the Anglican priest and broadcaster, Dr. Giles Anthony Fraser and the former Archbishop of Canterbury and poet, Dr. Rowan Williams.

This distinctive and reimagined performance will see professional soloists perform with more than 30 choirs from across the country alongside a period orchestra and the Old Street Band.

St John Passion will be sung in English and German, with English surtitles.
