Paint pouring may not be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of an arty evening out, but Adam at ArtMCR is proving how fun this creative endeavour can be with his popular ‘drink and pour’ workshops. Over the course of a two-hour workshop at Cass Art, you will learn the skills required to create vibrant designs using acrylic paint.

Get messy and let go of your inhibitions

You start by creating two smaller canvases where mistakes are welcome and experimentation is encouraged, before making a larger piece, all of which you can take home a couple of days after the workshop (so as to allow the paint some time to dry).

Each session is very informal and with ArtMCR’s BYOB policy a very different atmosphere, to your usual art class or craft workshop, is created. It’s hard for a workshop not to be a relaxing experience in the downstairs studio space at Cass Art. As you work in the warmly lit room you’ll find yourself getting distracted by the collection of tasteful works displayed on the walls.

ArtMCR encourages you to bring your own beer or wine but due to venue restrictions, spirits aren’t allowed.

Anyone is welcome to give paint pouring a go, regardless of previous experience or artistic skill.

Be prepared to get messy and let go of inhibitions with this hands-on style of painting.
