FACT’s Cinema in the City returns to Liverpool this February with a weekend of brand new, contemporary feature films served up alongside shorts from emerging filmmakers. Held at LUSH Liverpool, there is also the promise of food and drink from local traders – just make sure to bring your own seat.

Showing over the weekend from Friday 11 – Sunday 13 February, the films are pulled from across the world, starting with Stephen Karam’s Manhattan-set The Humans. Adapted from Karam’s Tony Award-winning play, the film stars Richard Jenkins, Amy Schumer and Steven Yeun in a story of rising tensions as three generations of a family gather together to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Saturday’s film takes viewers to Paris, where we meet Sophie (Sara Forestier), a young graphic artist struggling to make ends meet in Nine Antico’s Playlist. Then, on Sunday, it’s time for Ninjababy. From Norway, Yngvild Sve Flikke’s film follows party animal Rakel (Kristine Kujath Thorp), who’s life is turned upside down when a casual rendezvous with an aikido instructor leads to an unexpected pregnancy.
