Burlesque off the wall brings thrills, big name performers and live music together in a hot mess of feminine power. Witness this collection of standout acts in the May edition of their night at Band on the Wall.

Each night there is a theme that performers work with. In May, you can look forward to being transported back to Weimar Berlin with a provocation themed line up of trailblazing performers. Imagine the hedonistic parties, the sexual liberation, gender non conforming and general debauchery of the times. Set against the high stakes and highly turbulent political backdrop. It is surely fertile ground for some incredibly provocative, political and physical routines.

Headlining this circus of curves is Sparkling Spitfire, a renowned performer from the Emerald Isle, her sense of humour and pole based antics have been wowing audiences all over the UK. She’s sure to win over a few hearts as well as drop a few jaws. Completing the line up are a lovingly curated collection of burlesque’s rising stars. Rosetta Rodeo and her cowboy tom foolery as well as Ivy Malice, the rockstar of burlesque and Dawn Voz. Expect to see the boundaries pushed of stage based sensuality as well as fiercely feminine acts. Underscoring the night is contemporary jazz singer Natalie Ciufo. Her retro style perfectly complements the highs and lows of each performance highlighting and accenting every reveal, drop and split.

Politics aside, let yourself get lost in the escapism of leather aesthetics, whip cracking and cowgirl costuming. The audience is thoroughly encouraged to dress to impress and enter into the spirit of the evening.

Although every element of the night is live you can be sure to expect your heart to jump, your eyes to pop in disbelief and your loins to be ignited. Lead by visionary artist Renée Du Maurier, discover why this highly skilled and highly sensual art form of live music and tease has been thriving for as long as it has.
