With this year winding down, why not spend a morning just before 2025 comes to a close, reflecting on Manchester’s extraordinary history with This Mighty Manchester walking tour.

You will start at the hub of the city, where most visitors begin their journey, at Piccadilly Station. From here you will explore the streets that make up this city centre, while uncovering its rich tapestry, filled with stories, stunning architecture and Manchester personality.

Led by local expert Jonathan Schofield, this walking tour is an expedition across centuries, tracing the city’s transformation from a modest market town, many moons ago, to this powerhouse of industry culture and innovation.

Along the way, your guide will highlight some of the significant buildings that played an important role in the city’s uprising. Both grand and unassuming buildings, each with its own story to tell. From stand out Victorian warehouses, still intact and holding more than just stories, to little corners where big occurrences took place.

After having zig-zagged your way through the city centre, having learnt about the pioneering industrialists, Manchester’s contradictions and triumphs, and a few quirky anecdotes, you will arrive at your final destination, St Ann’s Square.

If you are curious about the past, wondering how it connects and shapes the future, wanted a refresher on the place you live or simply want to learn more about this metropolis, This Mighty Manchester Tour is for you.
