London-born singer-songwriter and composer Ana Silvera will explore her Sephardi heritage through traditional ladino songs and original tunes.

Tracing her family’s journey from Portugal to Aleppo before finally arriving in Manchester, Ana will reinvent the Ladino (Judeo-Spanish) song. Fusing the traditional music of Ana’s own lineage with a contemporary sound, expect signature folk meets bluegrass style.

Ana will speak about her own family’s journey from Portugal to Aleppo and finally to Manchester where they helped found our very own Spanish & Portuguese Synagogue in 1874.

Ana Silvera: Ladino Laments and Love Songs takes place as part of Synagogue Nights, a wonderful programme of intimate events happening at Manchester Jewish Museum.
