Move over Munchkins, there’s a new groove in town! This September, The Lowry is hosting a high-energy celebration of hip hop dance culture with a distinctly Mancunian twist. The Wizard of Oz, but not Oz, Manc… Intrigued?

Brought to you by 0161 Studios, who you might recognise from their work with Ed Sheeran, Rita Ora, Aitch, and, well, just about every major stage that you’ve ever heard of, The Wizard of Manc at The Lowry mixes the classic story we all know and love with the best of Northern hip hop, based on a popular artist,”Kaytranda”.

CEO Cheeks Carr said: “It’s time to give hip hop dance the credit it deserves; The Wizard of Manc will be an example of the superb talent and professionalism from the elite choreographers in hip hop.” And we agree. This show is more than a reimagining of a classic story – it’s a celebration of Manchester’s creative soul, set to a seriously stunning soundtrack, with elite level choreography and insanely amazing talent.

Guaranteed to make families cheer, dance, and possibly rethink everything you thought you knew about yellow brick roads. You might want to try clicking your heels three times, just to see where you end up – it’s the kind of show where simply anything could happen…
