The Whiskey Jar is a bar on the edge of the Northern Quarter / Piccadilly boarder in Manchester, the perfect spot to enjoy a whiskey or two whilst lounging on a pleasingly worn Chesterfield.

There’s an unmistakable Mancunian warehouse-chic thing going on which helps make it a solid choice for a post-work drink.

Then, of course, there’s the whiskey. Let’s just say that there’s a lot of it, in fact, looking at their menu, it’s hard to find a gap in a selection which seemingly takes in all corners of the globe – even Taiwan and India. The choices of Scotch here as extensive as you’ll find anywhere in the city.

You can get food here until late with a selection of pies and deli boards.

They have regular jazz and open mic nights here too. Downstairs, the basement of this old textile mill is an event space – perfect for putting on a night or booking as a private hire.
