A traditional pub in Holbeck that has been serving the city of Leeds since 1832, The Grove Inn is a local favourite for its quality ales, hearty grub, and an eclectic roster of live music – including regular folk nights.

You can expect to see anything from a full band to acoustic solo acts and poets here,

The historic pub has been a key feature of the Leeds live music scene for decades. Although it is predominantly known for its folk nights, they are also host to blues, rock and pop gigs, and, as well as gigs, The Grove also holds regular open mic sessions. You can expect to see anything from a full band to acoustic solo acts and poets here, all whilst sipping on soe of the best hand-pulled ales the area has to offer. Keeping in the tradition with the pub’s roots, a folk club session  is held on a weekly basis with musicians turning up from across the country to take part.

The Grove is a proud real ale pub and boasts a host of local brewery favourites. They prioritise quality over quantity in their beer selection. Included are; Leeds Brewery pale, Acorn Brewery’s Old Moor Porter, Ilkley’s Mary Jane, Daleside’s Blonde, and Kirkstall Brewery’s Pale Ale. Add to that classics like Yorkshire Pride (Acorn), and a bitter from Daleside, and you know you’re in for a good time.

some of the best folk music to be found in the north,

As for food, if you’re feeling peckish there are plenty of solid pub grub options to choose from. Think chunky pork pies, sausage rolls, and a good variety of Cornish pasties to boot. Perfect for lining your stomach after a couple of tasty local ales, if you ask us. The traditional multi-room pub also boasts roaring real fires during the colder months, ideal for hunkering down for a couple of hours and warming your cockles in true Yorkshire fashion.

A historic fixture in Holbeck, The Grove Inn is a tried and tested favourite that has been serving the people of West Yorkshire for generations. When looking for some of the best folk music to be found in the north and a hearty local pint in a welcoming environment, trust that The Grove Inn will be there to sort you out.
